This past summer I had the opportunity to lead a team of young people on a mission’s trip, partnering alongside YWAM Monterrey.  Even upon arrival the staff at YWAM Monterrey not only demonstrated their knowledge and experience of short-term missions, but also genuine warmth that made everyone feel right at home.

They put together a really well-rounded schedule that enabled us to be involved in the ministry both on a relational level as well as a tangible level. Nearly everywhere that we went we were blessed to see the results of many years of seeds being sown and watered by the YWAM Staff, as well as many others. In one particular community there were many who made decisions to follow the true living God and a commitment was made by the local pastor to plant a church right in that community!
The YWAM Staff also played a very important role in the transformation of the team members lives. As a team leader, I was familiar with most of the team members that were on the trip, but I hadn’t had much of an opportunity to get to know each one of them on a personal level. With the spiritual oversight and investment that local staff and team leaders provided, the group transformed from an assortment of teenagers ready to get out there and experience missions, to a team of young people sold out for God and the calling that He had placed on their lives.
I have led many trips with many different age groups, but our trip to Monterrey working alongside our YWAM ministry partners brought the most dramatic change in the team members that I have ever seen before on a mission’s trip.
God is moving mightily in Monterrey, and using the YWAM team as one of the forefront vehicles of ministry.  I would encourage any church, ministry or Christian organization that wants to make an impact on the people of Mexico to get involved in YWAM Monterrey and see what God can do through you and your team!
